An oasis of freshness on the border of Roppongi and Harajuku, and a rejuvenating alternative to the savory and sweet munchies that overrun the streets. Freshly juiced veggie and fruit beverages, smoothies, and vegan and raw food snacks that can't be beat.
Inside the closet-size shop, under a well-worn world map and chalkboard menu, meticulous baristas execute pour-over coffees and pull perfect espresso shots. Outside, wooden sawhorse benches on this parkside residential street make a nice people-watching perch.
A cushy, just-retro-enough lounge and restaurant where tired feet can retreat after a day of pounding the Omotesando pavement. Early diners tuck into bento boxes and bagna cauda while the late shift comes for champagne cocktails and a slice of the chiffon cake of the day.
Mojitos pop up in the most unexpected places including this underground speakeasy/cocktail bar in crazy packed Roppongi crossing. Here, the South American beverage is made with yuzu, shiso leaves, and two types of rum. Even small parties make reservations in advance but others try their luck simply by arriving and announcing themselves over the intercom by the entrance. Cross your fingers and hope you get buzzed in.
Do not let the extreme latte art distract from the matter at hand: award winning baristas pulling espresso shots served in milky lattes alongside doughnuts iced with attitude (the camouflage designs are referred to as Military Donuts). The Harajuku elevated shop is easier to find than the Omotesando location, which is on a residential side street.
